Kontrol R1.9 product performance has been optimised by incorporating just two inner metalised foils, which are encapsulated by two tough and durable metalised fabrics. The combination of the low-E metalised surfaces nullifies the effects of radiation.

Kontrol R1.9 is an ultra-slim multi-foil that is fully BBA tested and approved. Using a combination of polyester wadding sandwiched in between foils, Kontrol R1.9 has the added benefits of absorbing radiation and eliminating convection, which further enhances the overall thermal performance.

To eliminate both the effect of cold bridging, and the risk of moisture ingress within the structure, the Kontrol Development team devised a revolutionary binding method. The seven layers are bound together along both edges, whereas traditional foils would be stitched throughout.

Insulation systems utilising the Kontrol R1.9 product provide an air-tight system which will significantly reduce the energy loss from the roof space, which studies have shown can often account for upto 40% of the heat loss in a building.

Kontrol R1.9 can also be fully utilised as an insulated vapour barrier.
